Meet Danica Capili, 23-year-old owner of DMC 8 Plumbing Services, which is a service partner that has been with GoodWork since April 2020. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on her and her business philosophy.

Danica started out as the contact person for her aunt’s plumbing business, where she got the chance to develop her interpersonal skills and learn the tricks of the plumbing trade: “I was the one who sent quotations and proposals for my Tita, and ako yung nakikipagdeal sa mga clients. Actually at that time, wala pa naman sa vocabulary ko yung services.”
Due to the customers’ demands for more accessible plumbing services, she decided to start her own: “Nakita talaga namin na in demand siya at kailangan siya ng mga tao, lalo na yung mga walang idea when it comes to plumbing.” She entered the industry of plumbing at the age of 17 while studying to get a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
We asked her what she thinks is most commonly misunderstood about plumbing services, and she claims that “Usually sa plumbing, madali yung work. Ang mahirap ay kung paano ka makikipagdeal sa clients, kasi may different types of people. To add to that, she believes that having great communication with clients is the key to a business’ success: “We cannot handle them if we only have one standard. We have to learn how to adjust to the different personalities of customers, and dapat laging mabait kay customer. Ikaw dapat ang mag professionally adjust as a service provider. Para sa akin, yun yung lamang ko sa ibang service providers, yung kaalaman ko na ang lahat nga ng tao ay iba’t iba, at kaya ko makipagdeal sa kanila ng maayos. When you meet customer’s satisfaction and needs, they value your work the way you value them.”
As a young business owner with more than 7 years of plumbing experience, Danica has a few words of wisdom to impart to GoodWork readers: “Kung ano yung focus mo, kung saan naaayon yung skills mo, ipursue mo.”
