Meet Jeffrey “Jashly” Balucay, a GoodWork Hairstylist who has been with the team since January 2021. At the young age of 28, Jashly already has 8 years of experience under his belt. Today, we shine the spotlight on him and his many skills as a hairstylist so he can share the things he has learned along the way.
Jashly started working when he was 20 years old. Starting out as an extra set of hands for the nearby salon, he worked his way up to where he is today: “Actually hindi po ako nagsimula na hairstylist agad. Nag-aral muna ako ng foot spa, tapos after niyan naging Junior Hairstylist, yung basic na gupit, treatment, and color, hanggang naging senior na ako.”
Aside from the service itself, Jashly’s favorite part about working with clients is the friendships he gets to build during the service: “Syempre yung pag-kulay mismo and kaunting chikahan sa clients, pinaka the best po. After ng service, kapag nag-thank you na yung client, hindi ko ineexpect na maappreciate niya ng ganun yung mga ginawa ko.”
For Jashly, valuing clients is at the top of his professional priorities: “Importante sa akin yung kung paano ako magpahalaga sa clients. Appreciate ko lagi yung mga comments nila at bumabalik pa rin sila sa akin para magpagawa ulit,” he says proudly.
