Rowena Mangonon is an expert Nail Technician who has been all over Asia practicing her craft. Working in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi, she has over a decade of all-around beauty experience under her belt. “Umuwi ako kasi half of my life wala ako sa pamilya ko. I’m so thankful for GoodWork kasi mas malaki pa ang income ko ngayon kaysa nung nasa Saudi ako,” she adds.
When asked who she does it for, she proudly says that everything she does is for her family: “Kailangan mo tumulong sa other people, hindi pwedeng pang-sarili lamang ang iisipin.”
Perhaps Ate Weng’s readiness to share her blessings extends to her character as a GoodWork service provider as well, because according to her, the best part about being a GoodWork Nail Tech is being able to interact with the people she services and providing for them the best nail service she can offer. “Sa araw-araw na pagiging Nail Technician ko, araw-araw ko rin nakakahalubilo ang iba’t ibang tao na iba’t iba rin ang ugali. Syempre kailangan may adjustments, pero wala pa akong na-encounter na nagsabi sa akin na I’m not a good Nail Tech. Laging sinasabi na happy and approachable.”
We asked her for the advice that keeps her running towards her goals, and this is what she had to say: “Ang mababahagi ko, di lang bilang nagtatrabaho ako sa GoodWork, pero siyempre as a babae, as a nanay ay wag sumuko even sa pandemic ngayon. Hindi mo iisipin ang hirap na binigay ng Panginoon dahil binigay ito sayo para matuto ka kung paano labanan ang panahon.”
